Unhappy Help w/ Red cotton ball like algae

I've managed to get rid of my hair algae through the use of Phosphate removing media and I'm pretty happy about it.

But now I've got this red algae growing all over that looks kind of like red cotton.

I haven't tested my N04 in a while but I think it may be a little hight. All other params are normal.

My bulbs are getting old, my t5 bulbs are about 18 months now and my halide bulbs are about 12-13 months old.

How the heck can I get rid of this stuff before it's too late!?!? Is there a natural predator for the stuff that I can add??

Thanks very much
Waxx

You can try Mexican Turbo snails. That stuff is difficult to get rid of - I've been fighting it a good 6 months now.

Did these snails work out for you? I've heard an urchin would work, but I don't know what kind to get and I'm not even 100% that it would work.

yeah, they worked for me. Make sure you get the true mexican turbos. There are some indo turbos that look the same, but won't do the job. The only way I know how to tell them apart is the mexican turbos are more expensive

I haven't heard that an urchin will work.

You might want to check out the other threads on RC. The first thread in this link has some good info.

The only thing that worked for me is the big red mexican turbos. They won't be able to get 100% but they will get anything visible.

After reading that whole, thread, I'd have to agree. Funny thing, I found one of my own posts from before in there =)

I'll see if I can get some in my tank ASAP.

Thanks.
