How quickly I forgot...

Okay, so I have been out of the hobby for about a year or more. I just finished filling up my system with RODI/salt and I fired up the pump and man is the return to the sump loud!!! lol

Looks like I need to pick up about 8" of 1" pipe to silence it. After setting this tank up, I really miss reefs now and can't wait to start stocking it!

Oh sorry, what I mean is the water splashing in my sump from the tank. Right now the return from the tank is sitting at about 6-8" from the water surface in the sump so the splashing sound is like a waterfall...lol

well plumb it under water or closer- i am about to blow mine up. i have 2 2inch drains coming out of my fish system into my sump and it is way too loud. iam going to try and wrap the pipe with that gray foam stuff.
