Someone mentioned the XL cleaning magnets at Petco and I got one today for $10.99 which is not bad for holding the SF or GS2 mods but the quality is no where close to the mag floats. But for $10.99 it's a nice holder.

Hey gang here is my experience with the sureflows I've been running them a couple months now with MJ1200's on a red sea controller.

I've broke 4 of the SF housings (the stopper broke off that the prop hits). When the first two broke they sent me another two.

I've broke 3 MJ 1200 (There is a piece of plastic that keeps the shaft from pushing too far back) When this broke I was getting the chatter badly. I was able to fix it by popping the top cover off the MJ and superglueing a small piece of plastic back over the top. I think the prop getting thrust repetitively towards the back eventually breaks the plastic backing on the MJ causing the shaft to actually sticking out. You have to pull the top cover off to see it.

I don't think the sureflows or MJ1200's are made to take the repetitive start stop caused by the controller. I think it would help to have some type of controller where they run all the time and just vary the speed.

Hope that helps.

This was already discussed before. You need to swap out the red/black end caps that came with the kits and use the original Maxijet end caps.

Ok I just read every page and can't seem to find a post as to where to get the high flow sure flow kits. I have had a "reg" sure flow kit for over a month now and it blows away my 6.. yea 6 tunze 6025's.. I wish I would have waited.. but anyway where can I get a high flowsure flow kit ? and would a few of these work with the jbj ocean pulse wavemaker FWIW the sureflow is quieter than my tunzes on start up,(I have them all on a 15min timer)

I believe the shroud is the same but the prop and brackets are different. I'm using the original shroud with the new prop and it works great.

I got the new highflow Sureflow kits in and it looks like AlgaeFree redesigned the propeller/shaft assembly to be separate pieces altogther. Nice

So now you can also swap out propellers to your heart's content with the Sureflow.

Their new magnet mount is pretty nice too.

My Maxi-jet 900 has a very hard time starting with the regular SureFlow kit. Won't spin the right direction. Just rattles forever. I had to stick a dowel pin in the shroud and turn the prop the right way.

So where can I get the new and improved sureflow kit, I see it on algaefree's website, but don't know where to actually buy it from online. Marinedepot just has listed the old kit.

Hey it looks like you can get the new version for free.

Quote:
I have an old Sure Flow 1600 Kit. Can I upgrade?

Yes, if you have an old kit we can send you the upgrade kit (free) which includes:

1. New high flow propeller(for use with Maxi-Jet 1200 only)
2. New adapter bracket to attach original Maxi-Jet brackets to full rotation bracket (no glue required)
3. New much stronger rotation bracket, made of new material for added strength

To get an upgrade kit for your old sure flow, send a copy of your receipt, or UPC code cut from the Sure Flow box to:

Algae Free, LLC
118 Wolf Street
Madison, WI 53717

Is Algae Free Planning on releasing to distributors anytime soon or is my best bet to purchase another and send them the UPC?
