Condi lighting?
I have a condi (Haitian Anenome) and i had a small strip light before i upgraded to a T5 lighting system and now towards the end of the day, the anenome looks deflated and well... unhappy. How much lighting is too much lighting?
Ph: 7.9 Nitrates & Nitrites: <1 Calcium & Alk: 450 Water temp: 78.4 I'll try and get a picture of my camera cooperates. Thanks, Justin |

It will adjust, they're pretty hardy.

How much lighting did you have before, and how much now.
Did you acclimate it to the new lighting ?

I have a new tank up and running and i had a full spectrum corallife strip light on it, nothing fancy. Now with the new T5's, it's a 4 bulb set up so i turned on one bulb and let it run for an hour then added another bulb to the fixture every hour to give everything time to adjust. It was fine throughout the day today, but towards the end it deflated and looked pretty sick. Then my clownfish wouldn't come near it anymore... maybe it just needs another day or so of acclimation.

How long has the tank been up and running?
And Condis aren't a natural host for clowns.

My friend also had the great idea of having a condi for his clowns.
He woke up with a fat condylactus and two clownfish were missing. Not a risk i'm willing to take. |
