I usually don't post to these, but thought I'd add my 0.02 cents as this by far the best marine product with the CS to back it up I own. My two 6000 stream kits are the only item I have not had to replace because of failure or upgrade. They have been running non-stop for 7 years! And any time I have ever had problems with them Roger answers within 24hrs.

I bought 2 6025's. Pretty much out of the box, the plastic outer cages won't stay fastened. Biggest waste of $$ in the hobby for me yet. I should of returned them both right away. At the price in CAD $$ these cost me a year ago i feel a definite hosing. Never again.

I purchased 2 tunze 6045 nanos. Both of my clips busted. I contacted Roger, and he helped me out by sending me 2 new clips. I waited for several weeks and i never received the clips. So i got in touch with Roger again via RC and asked him what was going on with the clips i never got them. He told me he would look into, and replied back to me that the paperwork was filled out and according to their computers for some reason they never got shipped out . And he told me that they will be shipped out the next day. He held to his word, i received them 2 days later. This is great customer service no matter how you look at it. I will always buy Tunze USA pumps.

Thanks for all your help Roger!

I've bought nearly everything TUNZE

I have an Osmolator, a Tunze Kalkreactor, Tunze 9010 and Tunze 9015, as well as owning two used Tunze 6060 pumps which I bought used and have been running for over 2 years non stop. I love Tunze products, they remind me of my olw BMW in college, they sometimes are complicated or odd in how their assembled or how they are built, but the run like champs. I am still a bmw owner, well err sorta ( mini cooper) and I love it. I also have never had any problems with my Quiet One return pumps either, I think everyone of us has and had many differing experiences with different companies, some good some bad, go with what works for you as an individual. If tunze pumps dont work, maybe but another brand you might turn out to be their loyal customer. I am however a Tunze supporter.

cheers

Well here in the states, Roger MAKES Tunze the brand of choice for me. By the way, on the nanostream magnetic clips, you can super glue them on and your problem goes away. Roger sent me four to replace mine but after the superglue, they were not needed.

I just changed out my Euro Reef RS-100 for a Tunze 9010. IMO the Euro Reef was built more solid than the 9010, but the 9010 skims much better than my RS-100 did. My RS-100 was prone to flooding. The 9010 is more compact too so I can fit more LR in my sump, and it's quieter.

Ok, here's an update... Roger is a great guy to work with... Tunze products, still up in the air...

He fixed the (2) 6200 I had problems with. I had spliced the wires to clear the drivers for installation. I don't think this was the problem, but we don't know for sure. Both pumps had quit working within 2 weeks of each other. They were less than a year old.

The new 6201 that quit after one month, he couldn't find anything wrong with. I reinstalled it in the morning and by evening noticed that it had quit working again. I don't know if it's the mulitcontroller or what. But that pump will have to go back a second time....

The other (2) 6200 I've had for 8 months are still working. We'll see if they make it a year.

I have purchased (6) 6200 or 6201 from Tunze. I'm only running (4) right now. So I can't comment on the other repaired pump. I'm waiting for more magnet holders to ship, than I will try running all (6). The holders for 1" acrylic run about 155.00 for each set. That comes out to 465.000 just for the holders. Doesn't anyone know a cheaper way to mount these pumps????

Happy Reefing

David you got your driver boxes wet 2 times, user error is not a product defect. If you got any piece of electronic equipment wet it would be ruined. You also paid $80 after a 25% discount on each one. I did everything I could for you but if you can't mount them in a dry place it is not going to work.

I was going to say it sounds like they kept getting wet. How hard is it to find a dry location? They only have about a 15' cord.

I had a 6000/7091 that I bought used and had it for two years. Flawless. I sold it for what I paid for it when I upgraded to a larger tank. Now the 180G has (2) 6100s and a 7095. Flawless for 1 year so far. JME with them. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

My 9010 is pulling some nice junk out of my water. And I got a response from Roger in the Tunze forum. Tunze gets 2 thumbs up from me!

It says in the directions clearly multiple times dont get the driver box wet. I had a feeling it was user error. All the Tunze equipment I have owned over the years has been solid as a rock. As a manufacturer it must stink to have to deal with these message boards and people posting these crazy threads.

I'm the person that started this thread. I have been in contact with Roger. Tunze, is very luck to have Roger work out their product issues.

anthworks, just because you haven't had issue with Tunze products. Gives you no right to pass judgement on others that have had issues.

Like I stated above I will keep all posted on the outcome...

Rodger I put a hole in the wall and ran the controller from another room it only lasted a month I can guarantee there was no water damage to the third controller. But thats not the point thee controllers should be made to where a slash of water doesnt take them out. thats what fish do a few drops of water should not knock out a $500 pump. I have 10 other pumps running in my 1300 gals of aquariums tunzee is my only failure in 2 years.

Rodger i ran the cord thru the wall and into another room the controller lasted only a month. I guarantee there was no water slash this time around. Thats not the point your product should not be so sensitive a drop of water will knock your pump out. I am running 10 pumps in my 1300 gal of sdaltwater aquariums and tunzee is the only one i have had problems with.
