I know they get HUGE in the wild! +18". That one has some pretty cool colors, love the streamers and the teeth shot. Hmm.. maybe I will have to add one into my stock list. How about you jmc?

It wasn't long ago they had a 12" one for sale. They get to be pretty huge; it just takes them a while.

How long does it take to get to about 5-6"? I have a baby, about 2.5-3 inches, growing him out in a 55. Fed daily, usually 2X per day. I have a 210 for him, but he needs quite a bit more size on him before I will be comfortable keeping him with my black tipped grouper and Brazilian dragon moray

That is an awesome fish! I'd love to set up a tank just for him/her!

Lisa - I bought mine at 2" and he is now around 6". It has taken him about 18 months to grow. It seems like in the last 6 months he had doubled though.

Thanks, that's good news. I want mine in the big tank, swimming with the Hawaiian pink tail trigger and the other denizens.

Very nice!! I have 4 nigers the biggest being 8 inches. They are one of my favorite fish.My 8 incher bit me and left a good little scar when I was moving my tank to my new house, those bright red teeth can do some damage.

There is one Niger Trigger at a Rainforest Cafe in Toronto, Canada that I saw was at least 16-17" in lengthand probably 3" wide, the fangs were about 1/2-3/4", this thing was the biggest I have ever seen, just beautiful.

I recently got one and let me tell you he is amazing. So active and very personable. I can walk by the tank and he will pop up almost wagging his tail for food. The only thing I can say that is kind of frustrating is he likes to spit water at me when he is hungry, kind of cute but gets old after awhile. Great fish though, and he has not messed with any of my snails yet.

I got one 2 months ago, what an awesome fish. He is housed with a panther grouper 7 in, and a GSM clown 4 in. The trigger has grown at least an inch since I got him. He is now about 4 inch long.

Next time I'm in Toronto I'm stopping in there for a coffee. My Niger was just under 5" when I bought him and has grown 4" in the last 3 years.
