How to get toadstool to grow faster?

I have a small 2inch toadstool that I have had for 3 months and it hasnt grown. I am running 2x36 t5s on my tank and the toad stool is near the top with decent flow. Any suggestions?

it could be small for ever--the males of the species stay smaller and take about four years to mature. sorry. not much can be done.

LOL! Funny thing is I am a woman and I hate those movies, depressing and cheesy.

I have never heard anything about male toadstools staying smaller. Where did you get this information? I'm really curious to learn more.

how strong is the flow, IME they seem to like lower flow. Try moving moving it to an area with less flow and see if it'll open up more maybe. With mine, i turned off one of my powerheads for a while and it blew up, it got big.

All the book really says is that the females get larger when full grown, I didn't see any other method for telling the two apart.

mine tends to like high flow and high lights. mine started out as a 3" and is now about a foot accross after 1.5 years. I have 2 400 watt MH about 12" above the water and the toadstool sits right below the water level. (need to lower him as he is ready to grow out of the water) also I have 60x turnover in my tank for flow.

here is a pic. from about 3 monthes ago

light intensity seems to be the answer. when mine was near the bottom, it didn't grow any bigger. but when moved upper, it then started stretch its legs
