cleaning algae of from LR

I have a piece of live rock in my other tank it I have sold.
would like to keep it. it has a few mushrooms on it.
but it also has some hair algae on it. I don't what to move it into my other tank with the algae on it. other tank is clear of any hair algae, and would like to keep it that way. so how would I clean off this rock.

ron, I had the same problem like a year ago or so. what I did was to scrape it off with a butter knife then scrub the area a little bit with a tooth brush (new one fish don't need tartar control haha) then if there is anything left if your levels are good in the new tank it will starve it off

When I got my tank (used) it was covered in hair algae. I did basically the same thing. I picked off the large clumps and then scrubbed them down with a new toothbrush. Make sure you do it under water, like in a bucket.
