Xenia Trouble
About a month ago, I posted a thread after my xenia colony had a small crash where about a quarter of my xenias died. After this loss, they began to look healthy again and I was told that it was natural and accurs in many tanks. Now they are begining to look badly again. The pH, temp, and everything else is ok. Can anyone expalin why my xenias are doing this after thriving for over 2 years?

From everything that I have read & heard Xenia have a very short lifespan & tend to crash after several years unless they are cut & propped on a regular basis. This action spurs them on to keep growing & reproducing.

what kind of lights are you using, flow. when you say everything is okay as far as parameters, what do you mean.
as far as die offs go, there really has to be a reason....they just don't come and go without a certain scientific reason..their lifespan may be a good reason I have to investigate what data is out there on that one. have you changed anything--maintenance, equipment, dosing, whatever you can think of |

MY pH,salinity, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, calcium, alkalinity, temperature, and strontium are all at good levels. I haven't changed any aspects of flow and I clean the powerheads often. I have MH lights and I just changed the bulb but even the colonies near the bottom aren't doing to well.

By the way, i have been cutting and propagating them and all the other corals in the tank, including all the acros, montis are ok as well as my maximas.
