my female is getting her third stripe in on both sides but shes losing a little bit of black on top near her dorsal fin (must be the diet). theyre still bickering over who wants to be female. the little one hasnt gotten the white stripe yet; theyre hiding in a GBTA

how are your clowns doing with their color?

They are doing great. I haven't posted any pics lately , I'm waiting for her 3rd stripe to finish coming in. My males 3rd stripe has started to come in as well. And there is no bickering for dominance, I think my male has accepted his place LOL.

lol i wish mine would accept to be a male. i hope the stripe comes in on the male. i think it might be because the size difference between the two. the female is definitely bigger, and the male is smaller. they keep accidentally feeding the gbta

my female did have part of the dorsal fin black, but because im just feeding some flakes and sometimes shrimp its going to an orange. i wanna buy some of that food by rod

at that size they are far from sexually mature, so no male female yet me thinks just one juvenile more dominant than another juvenile

Mine are in the same exact situation. Should I worry that the color is fading even though I'm feeding them Rods food, frozen cyclopeeze, and formula two flake ?

Greyfox - Are they in an anemone? If so what kind? I have read a thread on here where it talked about Onyx Clowns losing some color when hosting a BTA.

Hi Mark,
They are still in the tiny breeder box with a piece of pvc pipe, floating in the big tank. The big fish has grown twice as big but the small one hasn't shown any growth (at least to my eyes).

I am currently feeding flake, freeze dried cyclopeeze, mysis and some brine. I haven't had a chance to get some rod's food yet, but I will be getting some shortly.

Here is an updated pic of my clowns The bigger clown has her 3rd bar coming in great, I would say it is almost fully developed. The smaller clown's 3rd bar is beginning to come in, right now I can see the specks the same as the big one's before hers came in. I have also began to notice on the big one, she has black specks starting to show between her 2nd and 3rd bar.

Mark,
Looks like your little one shows some growth, is it about half the size of the big one? I can't really tell by looking at the picture.

My big one is working on the third bar like yours and is twice as big now. The little one shows no growth and I don't see any sign of a third bar yet.
