That would be fine depending on what you want to keep. I had 1 175mh on my 40 for several months.

Without a problem, you probably dont even have to run any other lighting with that set-up.

You get the best growth from 10k and under bulbs but it makes your tank either very white or yellowish so the actinics help with the asthetics(more pop). You can get the same look with some 14k bulbs and a lot of blue out of 20k bulbs but slower growth.

if you have 175's get the Iwasaki 15K by far the best bulb(on electronic ballast) out there.. better than most 250's too.. great colors and growth from this bulb!!

I use 2 175 watt 10ks on electronic Ice cap ballasts and 2 110 watt super actinic VHOs on my 55 and without the actinics on it still seems like plenty of light....the actinics do make the color look a lot nicer, and with 10ks the actinic is needed to make the color pop.

i would say go with 2 x hamilton 14ks, and 2 x actinic VHO. or perhaps skip the vho.

i run the same as ItsDave and they seem to be growing great. before i had 15k's on there w/ out the VHO actinics and i would have to say the corals have better coloration and pop under the new lighting than just with the 15k's. JMO
