Is it normal for an emerald crab to go after a toadstool? Its the second time i see him yanking on it...do i need to get rid of him?

Yeah right. I had an emerald that picked on my toadstool also. I caught it and took it back to the LFS. I don't keep any crabs except for hermits

The only problem I've had with my Emerald is him stealing krill from my nems. He hasn't gone for my toadstool yet but I can see that happening.

I purchased some xenia and I got a hitchhiker zoa with the rock it came on. When I saw it, I was excited - but not as excited as my emerald crab. He hasn't fooled with any coral since then, though.
