Maxima funny color? (pics)

Hey guys I got new lights and I notices my clam is changing some color. I went from cheap reefglow 15k to ushio 14k, my lighting is 150w MH and 2 65w antinics. Here are some pics

15K (I moved the nem)

14k

He looks like he is getting some gold but his inner body is orange. Is that normal? I know on the old light it was like that but they were really blue for 15k, I thought that might have been the reason. Also I did notice when the clam would close up that he had white on the end of his last 2 mantles closest to the glass. The white was even on the old bulbs. What
do you guys think?

Looking good. I see you eggcrated the nem from the maxima. The white on the edges may be from where the mantle is hitting the glass and folding under and not receiving enough light. That may be why its losing color there. The orange on inner body is normal, my gold teardrops look the same

yes this is normal, a change in spectrum or even just a newer bulb will change the way the clam looks.

the colors of clams vary by the type of zoox. hosted in the mantle and the type of light we use. i wouldn't say that it is normal but unique which in turn is normal. ( if that makes any sense )

i agree with WayneY. they can also lose color where each lobe of the mantle overlaps the one next to it. basically if any part of the mantle is not receiving enough light the zoox. can't survive and the mantle will appear white. if he isn't attached, you could just move him away from the glass a bit and the color should come back.

was it white and stringy? once a clam has attached to a rock, if he decides to move he will drop his byssal thread and hop off. i would guess he left looking for more light maybe ( old bulb ). this is normal and nothing to be concerned about, it will regrow.

Yeah that what it was dropped it about damn 6-8 months ago. Its a long story but I only had the tank for a few months(was my bro's) and that clam moved a rock to jump in the sand so I wont mess with him until he dies lol.
