removing aiptasia from new live rock

I have live rock that has been sitting in an extra tank with a filter and a heater for about three weeks. It will be going into a new 58 gallon tank along with rock from my 29 gallon. I noticed that the part of the rock that I can see well appears to have one stalk of aiptasia on it. I want to get rid of it before placing it in the tank. Since I can easily pull this rock out of the tank, is there an easy home remedy or do I have to order some Joe's Juice? Can it simply be cut off or will it grow back. I will also check all parts of all the other rock to see if I see any more. Have never had them in my display tank and don't want to!

Do not cut it or pull it off! That will help it multiply. Feeding it a strong kalk mix will kill it without it spreading. Some people also say that shooting it with boiling water melts it without it spreading. Breaking a tenticle off will often spread them.

Remove the rock and place on your frag station, (With rubber gloves on which have no powder), And begine removle. A tooth pic or clean wire brush work great. Best method i think but if you cant remove the frag easaly then i hear hot water or lime juice in a hypo injected in the mouth works.GL

Buy a group of peppermint shrimp (5 - 7 - 9). You will most likely end up with a couple that will eat aiptasias. I recently added 15 shrimp to my tank, that was overrun with aip's, I was desperate to get rid of them. Within a week, I can't find 1 single aip.

Pull the rock out and hit them with boiling water. That will do the trick.

Thanks to all for the responses. I think I'll try the boiling water since it sounds it requires no supplies (I don't have Kalk mix, nor anything to inject "juice" or lemon/lime juice at hand). Do you think it would work to hold the rock at an angle and just pour the boiling water over the part of the rock that has the aiptasia? I don't necessarily want the whole live rock to turn into dead rock. I can put it back into the extra tank for a week or so and see if it looks like anything is growing back before I put it into the main tank.

If you qt the rock after wards, I don't see why pouring it is a problem. I am thinking about doing something similar with a very infested rock I have. It will cause more die off, but the rock I have in mind is covered with them anyway. I plan on rinsing the rock with saltwater before putting it back in the tank to help remove the stuff that dies. With so few, I wouldn't buy peppermint shrimp. Good luck.

i also have just a couple of pieces that i need to get off. What about just taking the rock out and taking a chizzel or a flat head screwdriver and break off a small portion of the rock that its attatched to. Any thoughts?
