Are you using RO/DI water??? Do you know what your Nitrate and phosphate levels are ??? How much flow do you have in your system??? Do you have a refugium ??

We have the same issue currently with our substrate. The red cyano seems to be all over teh place. We just added a sand sifting star and it is looking better but still way more than I want. I am also trying the turkey baster tip with bloring it off the bottom and sucking it up in teh baster. This seems to be working but takes quite a long time to do it without disturbing all the bottom critters.
