Free TDS meter

Buy.com is having a sale on IntelliTEC Digital Water Purity Tester for $10. It normally costs $39.99. If you check out with Google Checkout and create a new account they give $10 off so it's free. Make sure to take the free shipping option.

I got an apologetic email from Buy.com this morning telling me that the item was no longer available from the supplier. I guess the RC community jumped on this pretty hard.

I also got an email about this...I followed it up with a very expressive email about it! Now I'm just waiting to see if they respond to it?

Jay,
I was thinking about doing the same. Tell me how it works for you.
Thanks,
Monica

I mainly told them that I had never heard of an order being canceled, but I would have thought a backorder would suffice, and been a better way of handling this.

Here's the response from buy.com:

Hello Jay Johnston,

Thank you for contacting Buy.com.

This is in reference to your email regarding order #36061880.

We apologize for any difficulties you have experienced with your order. We are dedicated to serving you at the highest level of care and consideration, however, sometimes due to situations beyond our control we are unable to satisfy our valued customers.

We update our web site once every 24 hours. Occasionally, items run out of stock before we can update this information.

At Buy.com we strive to provide the widest assortment of high-quality products at everyday low prices. However, sometimes circumstances beyond our control affect our selection.

Our supplier recently informed us that item #204941998 on your order is no longer available. As a result, the product has been automatically cancelled from your order.

If you have any questions, please visit Customer Support at:

Sincerely,

Chris

As a web developer experienced with virtual warehousing and b-2-b integration, the notion that they update every "24 hours" is either a lie or just plain horrible back end systems.

But, I haven't patronized Buy.com since they got caught with their pants down selling music tracks and not paying the artists.
