I know the aquatic critter sells them and I think emerald bay does to, but I'm not sure.

As far as liking them, I had a 3000 and I hated it because of one major problem. It restarted correctly after power-off maybe 1 out of 5 times. It's not a disaster if a closed loop/circulation pump doesn't restart for a few hours assuming you have some flow going through the tank (although it is still annoying), but if your main return pump doesn't restart after a power failure, your sump can quickly become stagnant. From what I've heard and seen, restart problems are a VERY common problem with these pumps (at least on the bigger models)...

Here's some links to reviews of the 3000 and 4000 (don't know what size you're looking for):

FWIW, I've had a few different return pumps on my various tanks and of the ones I've tried, I like my Eheim 1262 the best. It has now been running for me for 2 years and it came from a set-up that was going for at least 2 years prior to that. It is a quiet and relatively efficient pump and even after 4+ years of service it still restarts every time like clockwork.

I've been using one for 4 years, as my main return pump. It's turmed off at leased once a day. I've had no problems. I must be hit or miss.

I have a Quiet One 6000 for my 125G and it has been working flawlessly for about 6 months now. The Critter sells them but I got mine online for quite abit cheaper.

Went from a Mag to a Quiet One and dropped 3 degrees off the tank temp.
I have a 6000 on my 125. Always starts, couldn't say that for the mag.

the restart issues are a common complaint about the quiet ones. If you are in the process of looking, eheims are good ones (as mentioned). I also really like my OceanRunner 2500. Very reliable and is only 38 watts for ~600 gph. It runs silent. It is comparable, IMO to the eheim 1260 but has less watts (= less heat added) and costs about 1/2. I have both the eheim and the OR and like them both.

I have an QO 3000. I got it from the Critter (at the same time as my skimmer and SCWD). I like it a lot. It doesn't seem to add much heat at all and restarts correctly every time.

what size one are you looking for? I have 3 and could sell one.

As far as the restart issue.. coming from someone that has used them for years .. I have never had an issue with it.
