Having issues with sps dying from base upwards...
Seems to go white and lose tissue slowly from base upwards. This is a branching Acro, not sure what type, but it is all the way up top in my 90G with 350W of T5HO, all params good. Frag has been in tank for about 2 weeks, with death starting about 4 days ago
I dipped in lugol's with tank water... any other recommendations and what usually causes this? Thanks |

Base up is most commonly AEFW, look closely for egg masses on the exposed skeleton.

from the base up sounds like alk discrepancies. check and re-check, then have it verified by another reefer. what are your latest parameters? is it a wild colony? if not where did it come from.

I've had this happen when my alk shot up a lot higher than normal and the Calcium dropped due to low magnesium. It's happened a couple of times before closely monitoring things like I do now...
Don't rule out the flatworms, though... James
