Interested in livestock group buy

Just wondering if anyone here wants to get in on a group buy for livestock (fish and coral).

I have a good friend of mine in FL who can get me livestock at wholesale, and sometimes less than wholesale.

He has plenty of rare angels, triggers, oddballs, wrasses, tangs, etc.

More importantly, he can also get ricordias and zoos. We just have to let him know what we want.

Let me know if you are interested and I can give you more info. Thanks for looking.

Rob

I've got a sample pricing from him and they are ridiculously less that what we would pay from an LFS or online...

PM me what you're looking for an what size and I can give you a price...

As far as the corals, he will get me pics of the ones he gets in and I can email to whomever is interested.

He called me last night and he has numerous wrasses available...super male rhomboids, super male hawaiian flame...etc.

I'm already getting a pair of watanabe angel and possibly some yellow mask angel pair (reef safe of course).

just an FYI to rob and all reefers involved... this is not a good idea... i did a GB on live fish and it did not work out well..

rob, people will flake on picking up the fish, they will run late, they will kill the fish and you will be the one holding the bag... its soooo not worth it.. no matter what rules you set up.. you will be taking a hit.

GB are great for dry goods.. but dont do it for fish/ coral. it def not worth it...

Thanks for the heads up...Yeah, it would be a big responsibility and if worse come to worse, I'll just get stuff for myself but I figured to share the discount with other people...

I don't think corals would be a problem as I can acclimate them and hold them for people but I can't say the same for fish...

I wouldn't do a GB with live stock because it's involve shipping and live stock shipping is not guarantee especially fish.

Hi Rob408,

not to hijack your thread or anything but i had a really bad experience with a fish GB as well..

it took me months to resolve with Paypal and luckly i finally got my money back and i just don't want to see any of my fellow reefers experience the same problems i had. i should've listned to Bebo77 in the first place..

Wow, that's got me thinking...maybe I'll just keep to myself and save myself from all the trouble...

Maybe one or two other people in the I.E who wants to get in but probably no more...The closer you live to me, the better...I will not collect any money unless I know that the fish are ready to ship within a day or two...

It's even harder for the middleman when he gets busted for trying to scam others (not that rob408 would do such a thing )! Guess I won't be getting any deals on Ricordeas...

People who've dealt with me know that I would never scam anyone..integrity is more important to me that scamming people over a few bucks...

Just talked to my friend and I should have pics of the fish that I AM getting from him just for example. If people want pics of the fish I got from him last week, just ask me and I'll be more than happy to share...

Why do you think LFS have such high mark up? They have to cover the high rate of DOAs and losses after arrival, and hopefuly for a few days after you buy them.
