Is there a wavemaker for Hydor Koralias?

If not...

I have a couple #2's in my 60g. Should I take a couple small maxi's and put them on a wavemaker?

The Koralias do not work well on a controller. The maxi's do work good with controllers although you may have to replace the props after a short time. I had mine on one and the prop blades broke off after a while. The on, off is hard on them. I just got a mod for my mj and love it.

I have 2 K3s in my tank. When I had them on the Seio wavemaker, it would always chatter. Since installing a ReefKeeper 2, they still chatter once in awhile but over the past 4 months, the chatter seems to have disappeared. I thought they were working on a WM.

Same here, that chatter is the impeller moving up and down. I'm thinking of a way to fix the impeller in one spot so I don't get the chatter. The RK2 helps out a lot.

The Seio Controller is the best option for the Hydor Koralia pumps right now. Everything else will be noisy or burn through impellers like they are going out of style.

Are there any wavemakers that decrease/and then increase the amperage, but does not completely turn them off?

Kinda similar to a dimmer switch on a light?

Not really, I contacted a pump controller manufacturer at one point to try and build one. There is a reason the Seio costs so much. These types of motors just aren't designed to be controlled. While possible, its just as cheap to get a tunze or vortec in the end.

The seio is basically a pre programmed VFD or Variable Frequency Drive. It reduces the frequency of the voltage flopping back and forth. It will only correct itself when it hits full speed in reverse, the prop is pulled forward out of the magnetic field and it flops back (clanks) into place turning the other way.
