Best thing to do is sell your car, go in with "cash" that way you can beat on them, I just did this same thing. They were trying to give me 12,500 for and 04 dodge ram with 30k miles on it. I wanted to slap him in the face. So I sold it by myself for $15,500 went in there and beat him down on an 07 ram 4 door with a Hemi. Get an 07 since the 08's are coming out now and very soon, you will get a fat discount, at least I know I did

For US cars, the new model year car is usually available in July or August; so by October, you should be able to swing a pretty sweet deal on the previous year's cars, although finding one fitted the way you want might be troublesome. We got pretty good deals on our cars, but negotiated the price at several dealerships, then went to the one with the lowest price on the Five Hundred, and asked him to beat both prices that we currently had for both cars by $500. He did, and we signed. Paying cash is irrellevant to the deal, if you're careful with the 'paperwork shuffle' they pull. The best thing to do is either have cash or pre-approved credit from elsewhere.
