cloudy after adding sand

hey all, I have a 29g bowfront with about
27lbs of Fiji live rock, a nano skimmer and 30lbs of live sand.

I had set up the rock this morning and then added the sand around it.

How long should the water stay cloudy? And is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It'll only stay cloudy for a day or two. The floating particles will eventually sink, because bacteria will start to grow on them and they'll "clump". Maybe turn off the pump for a bit, or add some mechanical filtration like a sponge or some filter floss until it clears up.

By the way,

[welcome]

When I set up my 90gal. I thought that it would never clear up. I also rinsed it off before putting it in. It still took about a week to clear up.. Just try to be patient.

Are you running any type of filtration like a carbon bags or the white sump sox, that will clear everything up over night. Set up over 10 tanks in 8 yrs and never had a problem bc I always had filter socks.

Get a hang on filter to collect as this will always be around and helps to control.

it will clear up in a day or two an fine micron bag over the sump drain...or a polishing filter for a canister (if you have no sump) will most likely speed it up....good luck, and have fun with your new tank
