Im surprised you still have those. Interested in doing some trading?

PM your number, I lost it, and I had meant to call you a few weeks ago to see if you still had one.

Do these skimmers include the pump. If so, which one? How old are the pumps?

Yes, these include the original stock pumps. These things run great.

I would guess that they are around 4 years old. However, I have owned for about 2 years and rotated them. One was for backup to the other. They were not both run while I owned them.

Also, they were soaked in vingear water and cleaned to maintain performance.

I have a Euroreef that I've had for several years. The thing with these pumps is that the crap out after 2-3 years, religiously. The magnet in the impeller swells, and then needs to be replaced. Mine do this like clockwork, and it doesn't matter how much preventative maintenance is done. It's very common, and is probably a design defect in the impellers on these. That's why I asked how old they were.

When i pulled them apart they looked fine.... I have not heard of that or I would not have probably been as eager myself to buy them at arounf 2 years old like I did. Maybe your experience is isolated....

However, eventhough they work great, they are beeing sold as is. The skimmer bodies are in excellent condition. Also, one could always buy a new impeller or pump down the road if a problem did develope.

Thanks for looking

i have the same skimmer. i thought it performed pretty well, but i bought an octo 3000, put mesh on it, and recirced the skimmer, and the difference was night and day. i love my cs8-2. i wish i had the money.. i would buy one of these in a heartbeat since i already have an extra octo 3000 pump.

Can you let me know what the actual footprint is on these with the mod. I don't necessarily need a skimmer, but if one of these will fit in my current sump I'll consider replacing one of my other skimmers (I love the euro-reef I have on my 90 and haven't had any problems with the pump... which is at least 3 years old at this point).

Its around 12"x 12"depending on how you arrange the GV on it (its not glued) and 24.75" tall

Also, I found replacement sedras on ebay new for a $100.00 if that is a major concern. The impellers are only $35. Worse case if it clunked out in a few months you would only have $350 in a skimmer that was around $600 new.

I'm also not totally sure, but I think posting PM's is a violation of RC's rules. Not trying to stick up for anybody or step on anyone's toes, but posts like this usually get deleted by the mods. FYI....

Thanks Tennsquire I really didn't care that Head dock thought he had to post the pm I sent to him on this thread since I never looked into this thread until I was told about Headdocs post by another member. I actually PMed Headdock when I saw his new to the area thread.

He said he was looking for a good skimmer. Lint licker You may want to find out who did what before you post that you think someone is rude and if that is the reason you use to not join the club then I am sorry for you as you miss out on a lot of great things just because some one like HEADDOC starts some BS that he shouldn't he just should have asked me. By the way head doc I hope you do find your skimmer some ware else. You also never need to respond for anything I am selling as I wont sell anything to you and I know a lot of people that have gotten things from me for great deals.

Great deal and I have the right mesh to do the mesh mod on the pump if anyone who buys this wants to do that also. My sedra is doing a great job and I got it a few years used and have run it almost a year. Good luck with the sell!

You might try posting your skimmers here

I typically have good luck selling items there I can't get rid of locally.
