This is how you know you have an Algae Problem!

I have been lazy when it comes to my tank lately. I haven't done a water change in about 3+ months.
I saw this yesterday and decided it is time to clean my tank!

Notice both Bubble algae and hair algae.

ha ha ha... that's funny! (well I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you!)

On a side note your birds nest in the background looks healthy!

if your tank was in that bad of shape the birdsnest would be the first to go. They seem to be very sensitive to phosphate in my experience.

Great eyes on noticing the BN! BN has been very easy to grow for me. It was my first experience with SPS. I have 3 colonies of Pink in my tank in different areas to see how they would do. They all seem to be doing well. The one that has been on the bottom of my tank is fighting off a large patch of GHA. The GHA is covering part of the top.

I don't test for phosphates. BUT, I do run a phosphate reactor 24/7. So, I don't think my phosphates would be too high. I know something is feeding my rapidly growing GHA and massive bubble algae prob, though. I need to figure out what.

Boy you know something that I don't that is for sure. I am running a phosban reactor and doing major water changes and the hair algae keeps coming.

I have one ugly BN that grows and grows and I have two other varieties of pink that are both nearly dead and a ORA green that is nearly dead as well. The ugly brown just keeps on keepin on.

I think it is nothing more than luck. My BN's color really changed when I switched to ATI bulbs. I use aqua blue and blue+.I had giesman's before and the color was dull. And now, I have my canopy off and I am about to change them out (will be finished today) for the round luminarc minis (which I hear are really knock offs) and 2-250w reeflux 12K's. I think that was a run-on sentence.

I am hoping for some more growth. BUT, I am holding on to the T5's in case I want to switch back.

I am also hoping to stop the GHA as well. That stuff is vicious!

Nice Ghillie Suit! Or would that be Gilly Suit?

Apparently I've been playing too much Call of Duty 4 over the past couple weeks.
