Calcium Reactor?

Does anyone have a good link as to exactly how a calcium reactor works? I am starting to get into SPS heavier and would like to get into a system but would like to learn alot more about them. Needless to say being from North Dakota the LFS's call me for any salt advice, Thanks again guys.

well you can check out Marine Technical Concepts, they make great reactors and is basically a reactor that will does calcium inot the system to maintain clacium levels so you dont' have to.

All they do is inject CO2 into saltwater, which lowers the pH enough to dissolve the calcium carbonate media. The CO2 can be regulated carefully, along with the flow rate, to control the amount of calcium and alkalinity produced. This article might help:
