I felt compelled to reply to this thread as I had a similar issue. For some reason on my setup, I could not get my dart silent. The manufacturer even sent a replacement with no luck. I finally gave up.

I would contact Sequence and see what they can do for you.

I went the Tunze route.

The noise was obviously something on my end, but I never could figure it out. Even after a new pump was sent...maybe two new pumps. The company worked with me a great deal, but sometimes it just doesnt work. I highly recommend sequence even after my experience.

You likely have a cavitation problem (sounds like rocks in the pump). Sequence will be helpfull. Please feel free to post more details here if you need to.

Do you think something might got inside the pump? I would hate to take this pump a part...I am afraid it will leak

I'd talk to Sequence, I had a DART begin to get noisy, when we pulled it it had somehow rusted on the dry side and that was causing the noise. Sequence sent a replacement since it was less than a year old. FWIW, I have not only a DART as my main pump, but one on my skimmer (Reeflo Orca) and *both* are nearly silent.

I run two darts on my tank and I don't hear much noise. One is an Orca, iirc its a dart with a needle wheel, it makes noise but I think its because its drawing air.
