All in one kits

What is the best all in one kit?
I'm interested in one for the future, and I wanted one that requires no modifications, and is pretty much perfect the way it is
Thanks

I like my BC29 but you would probably have to modify it some. The thing is - the modifications aren't that hard and the tank starts out cheap. You only add what you want when you want. Don't be afraid of making the changes.

If you are really against customizing, I'd look at the new 28 JBJ and RedSea Max. FWIW, most of the people I see post about these expensive systems are also looking to modify and tweak them.

I think that they should just make a kit that is perfect the way that it is.

What kinds of mods do they typically use,
Auto top off, lighting, filtration etc?

RedSea Max is the all in one that requires the least modding but the JBJ isn't too bad either and its cheaper so if money is a problem just do a few easy mods to them.

Here's a few of the easy ones...

Drilling a hole in the back wall to add another return pump in either chamber 1 or 2.

Taking out bioballs, ceramic rings, and the sponge fliters from the back. Add LR rubble to chamber 2, strip off some of the black vinyl with a razor blade, add a small clip light on the back, then put in some chaeto. You got yourself a sweet refuge right there.

Check out nanotuners.com as well. They've got a couple of mod kits that are very very nice.

The thing is - perfect means different things to different people.

Also, none come with a topoff. I've been happy with my JBJ topoff.

I second the comment about nanotuners. They have a number of good lighting modifications that keep the stock look and also carry skimmers that fit in the back.

Now that I think about it, go look at nanocustoms. What they do is take the base tank and put all the mods you want in before they ship it. You can select from a drop down box what you want and you'll get it. That may be the closest thing to what you are looking for.

They are all pretty great as a basic setup, it's only when you want to keep the corals that need more light is when you really need to start making mods
