far be it from me to panic you, panic, but aren't you worried about small fish or inverts straying into that intake?

To add this to locline could you just glue a piece of pvc onto the nipple and drill some holes into the pvc?

Here is a short video demonstrating the flow I get from these on my closed loop. The CL is driven by a Sequence Dart pump on a 120 gal tank

I watched for awhile with the same fear, but nothing gave it much thought. The end is a 3/4" coupling, so the snails cannot fit in the holes in the sides. No problems for 3 years so far (knocking on wood)

Will this work if the holes are 1/4" instead of 1/2"? I made one with the 1/4" holes (all I had) and it isnt powerful at all...

Panics design with the cut open sides is certianly going to be a better performer. The center piece of tubing should be extended to reach about 3/4 of the way across the open area to further improve the design.

Try them both, then tells us which one works best!

Marino 420 how do you have your plumbing returns setup of your dart. Is it split 2 4 lines at the same time?

Its crazy how you get that much water movement with the output split in 5 outlets!

Thats cool. I was thinking about running 2 of my OM4 for returns on the top and 2 on the bottom. I was just curious how the dart would work if it had multiple ports. Thanks for the pics and clearing it up.

How do you like having flow coming from the bottom? Does it really help in keeping your rocks clean? Or what have you liked about the flow from the bottom?

Hi,
Thank you for a great DIY info on this. I made two and hooked them up to my return pump. Witch is a GEN-X PCX40. I Thought I would have more noticeable Flow!! If I close one of the Pipes off I do get a good amount of flow. Do you think my problem might be that I am using two on one pump? OR should my T-split be down lower than higher like I have it? Any info would be grate!!!
My Reef Tank is 180 Gallons If that helps.
Thank you,
Daniel

Well, I've had no luck finding a reducer coupling at any of the local hardware stores, but I think I may have found one on line. Can anyone tell me if this is what I'm looking for?

I have an idea for a design improvement, and it also reduces cost.

If you heat an area around 3/4" wide on a section of straight sch40 1" PVC, you can give it a little tug, and it will constrict at the heated area. You could also use a glove and work to mold the shape into a nice hourglass shape. You could creatively use the tapered sections in your designs to create a shape which causes the velocity increase at the expense of reduced pump head, which of course increases flow rate.

If I didn't have 16 enductors on the pulsed wave system in my tank, I would be tempted to make them for myself

Hmm... I might make one just as an example anyways

Is there a smaller reducer coupler? I want to try to build a 1" but I haven't found one yet. Any thoughts?

You have a similar pump to what I have, you should be having some pretty good results.

Some pics of your setup could help.
