GE Silicone 1 WHITE turning yellow?

Well...I recently used GE Silicone 1 Window and Door WHITE for my sump because it was all I could get. I assumed it would be okay, just a different color.

After around a week of running my fuge light the white silicone seems to be turning yellow because of the light exposure.

Should I be worried about this? Just a color change? Should I call GE?

Not sure if I should be worried or not...

IMO... dont scrimp on materials. Use aquarium silicone. The couple of extra bucks a tube is well worth not having to break down a system to replace, repair, much less the potential damage to the investment in livestock. In theory you are saving tons of $ by doing it yourself, spend a couple of dollars and use the best materials.

Thanks for your input, I understand what you are saying but this isn't my question. The sump has already been made.

I'm sure your fine.. Its probably not the light, But the water and all the stuff in the water. Clear silicone will do the same thing... Thats why all my tanks now have Black silicone! GE I window and door is safe. If the black and clear is safe I wouldnt' see why the white isn't.. I'm sure though that you won't find to many people that have used it lol.
