The thermostat in my bedroom read "LO" , meaning it doesnt read past 99 deg. because its only a 2 digit readout. I would have to guess it was about 105 in there.

I don't want to see what my next electric bill is. My home A/C is on at night as well.

Keep cool!
Story sounds familiar. Were you in OC today?

My tank is sitting at 81. A/C st to 78 downstairs. Wife is on maternity leave so AC will probably be less during the day. Better buy stock in So Cal Edison. I'm smelling a huge bill coming next month.

Funny. Mine read "ROFL."

Our frogspawn and fox corals haven't come out in days, but otherwise, everything's doing great. Our banggai cardinals are even doing the dance, trying to breed again.

My 260 is really hot. My sump and equipment are outside where is is 110 in the shade. I have a 1/2 chiller that almost runs continuously. At least if only gets to 83 and holds there. I only have my t5s on. My MH are off. I have been using frozen water bottles and ziplock bags full of ice. I hope my chiller can hold up. Today is predicted to be the hots one. I have my fingers crossed.

I hear you! I had originally planned to plumb my tank outside. I have a pad of cement, incoming water, and a drain to the street run just outside the wall of the tank. The heat is the reason I never went through the wall.

yea, in my new 250g... i have no chiller, and only running 1 fan. it was only 95 in my area, but i think the humidity wasn't bad. my tnke peaked at 78 with out lights and 80 with lights...

so weird how my tank stays cool... oh, the thing i did was i kept the window open and another small fan bringing in new fresh air (may be dry air) and even though it may have been hot, it still kept evaporating the water and keeping it cool...

My 1/2 hp chiller died on Aug 20. The good news is that it is still under warranty; the bad news is that it has to be shipped to CA to be repaired.

I changed my lighting to night after the sun goes down and put 4 box fans in my fish room. I also blocked off my kitchen from the rest of the house, with a blanket, to pull more cool air into the fish room.

My central air died last year and I'm too cheap, or maybe too busy spending on the reef, to fix it. But its a must next year.

My tank runs about 79 during the day and when the lights come on at night it will heat to around 81 or so.

i guess my tank is good still. running 3 250watt and 2 6' VHO, total 7-8 hours aday with 2 4" fans on top and one big tornato for sump. Also have 1/3 chiller, and temp stays around 79-81. Chiller turns on twice a day and 2-3 hours each time.

Room always 105+ degrees three quarters of the year and my fish tank is usually 86-88 degrees. Past week my tank temperatures have been around 90-92 degrees. No problem with the tank besides red slime algae here and there.

Only fans blowing on the surface of the water.

1/4 chiller was keeping tank at 79F, but was making the living room so hot that the AC (wall unit) couldnt cool the room. I am in the process of putting my chiller in the window(outside) and PVC it in...

Anyone Have their Chiller outside?????
