Wow cool sized tank. Most of the 3 foot tanks regularly availble in the US are either 12" or 18" wide. You don't see 3ft tanks that are 2ft wide here unfortuantely. I'd love to set something that size up.

I have a 3ft long 40 breeder, but this tank is just recently setup after a move so it's not really picture worthy yet.

Less rock work? Well I prefered to build it up, so this wont help you with the open middle idea. But hey, I love posting pics of it.

If I do it again, I'll likely create more shelves for placing frags/encrusting corals on.

I have both of my 3' tanks out of action as I move to my new home. Both are 3' wide, 28" tall with one being 18" front to back and the other 24". I will post pics after they are moved.

Here's my 38. Not that technical or creative but it works for everything I want to keep. You can click my red house for a few more pics updated as of today.

here's my 40 breeder as of a month ago or so. I'll soon be taking out most of the rock and replacing it with new rock though (i've got about a hundred pounds out in a 55g tank just waiting to cure Its a lot nicer rock than i got now)

But here it is now.

WOW, I'm lovin' that look myself!! I'm in the process of setting up a 65 gallon (36"x18"x24") and I'm thinking about a nice open area just off center (perhaps at the golden ratio LOL)

Bri Guy, how much rock you got in that 30? gallon??

My tank is 36"W x 24"H x 18"D. This is a new RR setup with sump. I moved everything over from a 36" non-drilled with HOT everything. The brace in the middle was beginning to melt due to my Outer Orbit MH's which are in the center of the light. The new tank has no brace.

I built the stand myself and am still working on the doors. They should be ready to put on in about a week. The red container is my auto-top off reservoir. I have an aqualifter on a timer that runs about 10 minutes per day. I changed out the sump/fuge light. I had a 24" compact in the attic that I dug out and am now using. Also installed my Phosban reactor since this pic.

These photos are a month or so old. I have since rearranged and added a few new corals.

Heres a newer pic of my tank, I had just rearanged the right side before the first pic. Here it is now, I can't wait for it to grow out some (I started from all small frags)

Must be around 35lbs, not for sure, but it is very holy, uhm... lots of space within the rock structure.

And yet another 40 breeder. Just hitting the two year anniversary. Enjoy.

I have the orbit 2x96 watt PCs, a 15 gallon sump with large refugium area (post skimmer), Aqua C-Urchin skimmer, Rio return (back-up handy ), and three Maxi 900s on a wavemaker powerstrip. I dose two part for Ca and Alk. The only fish is a pygmy (aka cherub) angel.
