I have both my tanks in a dedicated aquarium room, so the focus is the tanks.

I have five aquariums in my den in the basement. That and a sitting area and wet bar are all that's in that room.

I love waking up and seeing neat stuff going on in the tank, like my nassarius snails coming out to shuffle about and rebury themselves, or hermits fighting over a shell.

no tv in the house. and the tank is not the focus of the room. Its on a random wall, very low off the ground.

I have my tank is my basement, but I have a 120" screen down there as well, so it's kinda the focus of the room, the tank is kinda in it's own little space. I keep a 32" TV right next to the tank for playing PS2 ans XBOX still though.

It works out good though, because when there are big sporting events on all by buddies come over to watch it on the big screen and they love the tank.

BTW, UFC is gonna rock this weekend.

Neither can I.I am waiting for spa flex to finish my cl.I will have a 150 gal sump in my garage directly behind the tank. The doors have to be put on but I am waiting for the plumbing to finish. It will look nice once everything is in place. The tank is acrylic 300 96x30x24.I have put 1/2" of water inside to test for leaks.I would have liked to have the tank upstairs but its way to much weight.

It already looks nice.

reefer4eva, if you want a tank in the same room as the TV, it is best to not put them opposite each other because the lights from the tank will reflect on the TV screen making it hard to see the programming.

What size tank reefer?I thought about having a smaller tank upstairs(90 gal)in the living room but I have no space and the wife is paranoid of spilling water on the hard wood floors.

Put it where you will see it the most.

Unless you have really quiet overflows/Durso's, etc, there is bound to eventually be some noise competition between the TV and the tank.

steve :210 but it might be smaller i do not know for sure yet. THe tank will be on hardwood flooring loll. Bit risky but ill be careful putting like 5 dozens of towels on the floor when working on the tank.

marc : either room will let the tank be seen as much because the rooms are beside eeach other. However i must say that i do spend more time in the living room having the tv there and the dining room only when having a party.

here are a few pros about putting the tank in each room :

living room :

tv
bigger room
the tank will be against an exterior wall (better for floor as the tank will be pretty heavy)
when coming into the room the tank will be facing you as you turn into the room

dining room:

being able to eat while enjoying a piece of the ocean
will be the centerpiece of the room as theres nothing buh a dining table there

i dont know you guys. Hard choice. help me choosee please

My living room is in a square shape. Think North, South, East, and West. North is where the TV is, South is a couch, East in the fish tank, and West is a couch. You can see both all the time. Here's a picture I put together.

I would put the tank in the living room where you spend the most time.

aqua reefer I also have a 360 mine is in for repair.I got it back but I have to pick it up.My friend had a 125 in his apartment he did notice the floor start to bend with the weight of the tank so he didn't fill it up all the way.Reefer4eva you better have strong floors you are looking at over 2000 pounds plus sump. Its nice to have a tank upstairs but the floor has to support the tank.Maybe going longer than a standard tank might help.I would ask a civil or structuale engineer. My stand weighs more than my tank or at least it felt that way when lifting it.Acrylic is lighter witch will save some weight. Can also reinforce the floor from below so you don't have to cut out the hardwood(part of it).
