Fans for Biocube

Well, one of my fans inside the hood of my 8 gallon biocube has died and I'm in need of a new one. Has anyone else encountered this, and more importantly has anyone found a good place to pick up a new fan for cheap? Thanks in advance.

Check out Nanocustoms.com. I just upgraded my fans and got the variable speed adapter. The new fans are much quiter then the stock ones.

Which fans did you get? The only ones I saw were in a kit for another type of cube.

I use the fans you use in computers..they are cheaper and work just fine. I have several custom fit into my hood on my 76g reef tank.

Any 60 mm fan will work. If you have the 4.36 upgrade you have to go with 10 mm thick fans because one of the endcaps is over the fan. Its tough to find quiet 60x10 fans, but you should have several options at 60x25.

Actually, mine uses the 50x15 fans. I can find the fans, but I'm trying to fine ones with the 2 pin connectors, instead of having to use a 3 to 2 adapter. Just hoping someone out there had found some with the 2 pin connectors. Thanks for all the advice thus far though.

I'm gonna try Oceanic on Monday. I just don't know if I have the documentation showing when I bought it, so the warranty route may not work. Trying to explore all my options, just in case.

I had mine go out after 2 months....oceanic sent me replacements but they are the same lousy ones made in china that came with it. Take an existing one and head to the local computer store.....you should be able to find a better replacement for under $10
