Who makes a decent 65w Actinic?

Well the time has come to change my bulbs and I was wondering who makes a decent one. I'm using Coralifes right now but wanna try something different. They look ok but who knows something else might look even better.

Anyone else have some suggestions? I see that Premium Aquatics has some Hamiltons for around $30 bucks a pop. Anyone ever use them before? How do they look?

Sorry for your impairment.

http://www.jbjlighting.com/bulbs.html

They are 420nm, but it just so happens that when it comes to aquarium lighting, blue is actinic. Well kinda...

my impairment leads me to believe actinic is 460nm, not just 'blue'

Current has great bulbs IMO They have a 420/460 combo bulb that looks great. The 420 really brings out the colors and the 460 makes everything "POP"

Tang/Jetcat: Actinic is 460nm and looks purple, it's actually emitting UVC much like a blacklight...that's what makes greens "glow" in your corals

That is the bulb i was refering to...they make a really nice supplemental blue/actinic. I use to run that with a sunpaq dual daylight 6500/10K for a full spectrum lighting setup. It just wasn't enough light for my tank so I switched to MH.

c'mon cat, I've got it all explained in my signature 'hobby experience'.

Forgive me all.

My cynicism is just me. Humbly though, I come here learn.

You can quote me if you want.....no copyrights on that one.

Due to my new education and my recently blown out 'actinic' jbj bulb, I'm going with a sunpaq dual. Talked to exoticaquatic.com on the phone and they're getting away from jbj bulbs (not fixtures), due to difficulty dealing with jbj. Bulbs were $34 from hotaqualights. After educating myself a little more, I've found that $22 is most I should pay for a 65w'er.
