Recommended height for lighting
Anyone have the recommended height for lighting. I have a 180g. (72x25x25) with 4-96w PC and 3-250W MH. Any suggestions????

I keep my 250 DE HQI MH 8-10 inches from the water. MH will heat your water, so give em some room. I keep the t5s about 6 inches, but they could probably be 2 inches, just depends on water splashing.

The MH will heat the water but the closer it is to the water the less light wasted into the open. I have heard(read perhaps) 5" is a good height for the bulb from the water.

MH's should be 8" to 12" inches, but if you can, play around and see what your tank likes the best.
