Just one question..
On the closed loop returns.. Why did you go with True Union BV's?? If you need to remove one, the union won't keep the tank from flooding your floor Or am I look at it wrong? --paul |

I love the height of your stand, no stooping to look in your tank! and lots of room to work underneath! Very cool!

No major leaks just a 2 small ones ... one on the dart return and 1 from a cl bulkhead...
The dart pump is sitting on stryofoam on top of the glass brace for the 100g sump. I do want to reinforce this with a piece of cuttingboard material to help the span to the top frame.. Paljets.. The reason I went with True union BV is all about cost of plumbing.. I think I'm around 600-800+ (I'm sure that's all I want to think I spent) in plumbing parts.. So If I have a tank crack or issue of any kind I can reuse all the Threaded plumbing in any tank later on and not have to spend another 800 bucks.. Just cost recovery is all .. |

Looking good. Nice to see the progression.
Appears to be some sort of alloy hose bib valve just up from the pump. If so, I didn't know that alloy was a good idea. Guess you found some material to work out the pedestal stands for your skimmer and reactor. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone..
Glassguy: Thanks cant wait to see your tank and bring some stuff to you ! Lowerunit: Everything is PVC or few ABS parts.. No metal other than the hose clamps where the barbs are used... that drain is like a gold color but PVC. One of the guys at the station brought in a 4x6 sheet of acrylic material he had left over after covering his solar panel we used to make the stands ... gave us something to do at the station while we waited for calls.. it was a smooth build though.. I still look forward to helping with your sump though so please let me know once your ready and we both have time to get on it.. |

And no I understand your thinking on the true union bv's Good idea actually.. Cheaper to buy the replacement union part then the whole bv.. No leaks yet then? --paul |

They are allowing maximum flow that is for sure.. I just cant turn them on all the way for a good current due to the return issues.. Starting to get a bit P.O.
