220 gallon Skimmer and pump?

I am starting a 220 gallon FOWLR. Would the ASM G-3 in sump skimmer be large enough for this tank? Also what size pump do I need in the sump to return water to the tank? I have an established 75 gallon reef tank but it has no sump so I don't know much about sumps. Thanks

get a euro-reef. not sure what model is best for your tank, but IMO, best skimmer out there

Here is my 2 cents. My asm g2 was garbage, worst investment I made so far.. performance was terrible always needed adjustments and leaked from all the seals. I was happy with my euro reef RS135, got some nice dark nog, But not alot of it..Then I bought my ATI BM 200 in terms of performance the asm and euro reef do not come close.I have also heard many great comments of H&S though I never used one personally, hope this helps..

If you don't mine spending the money, this would be a great skimmer for your tank. The price is really good to.

I have a g4x on my 210 fowlr and I am happy with it. As for the return pump, I have an OR 6500. The 6500 is their largest pump (1700gph) and it is a bit underpowered for my tank, but it is dead silent.

On my 180, I use an AquaC EV-240 (works very well).
Usa a Mag 12 for the return pump.

EuroReef
ASM
Aqua c
Need I say more.

I would give Jeff a call he is very good at what he makes. I have the 4' tall skimmer

How much $ involved for your LifeReef? I'm alway looking for something better.

For a more informed answer, how far would the sump be from the top of the display tank? There is a head pressure calculator on the home page that can help you figure what you need/want.

As for the ASM G3, I think it would be okay, but I'd go a bit bigger if you're wallet will allow.
