my new pico with custom refugium

Well here she is. I Just added lr and ls 1 week ago. Ive had this tank dry for some time now due to moving and other expences but now I finally got her feet wet . I built the refugium out of lowes glass black silicone I got from petco. I plan on using the light that came with the pico as the light for the refugium and bought the 32watt current dual satallite for the main. I love the dual power cords to controll the lights seprately and the color looks great. If anyone has any questions or suggestions dont hesitate to ask.

The refugium is impressive, it's like a whole 'nother Pico! Additional kudos on the rockscaping, wish my LFS had had more cylindrical rubble when I pick my stuff up. Oh well, maybe I'll find something nice tomorrow!

I want to do that to my Pico!! It looks Awesome. What kind of pump is in the refugium? Could you post some kind of sketch or plan of how you made that fuge? Thanks

The demensions are 12"w x 10"h x 6"d. Lowes glass sheets 12 x 10 and had them cut the pieces. I figured it was the easiest(less cuts). I have an mj 900 to pull the water into the fuge and I shaved down the impeller to decrease flow. I plan on taking some more pictures of the fuge later on this evening and ill post them. Thanks

The hop filter is off the tank now. I do have a small power head for more flow. I needed to break up the surface scum that was building up. Thanks for the compliment.

the pico is a jbj 3gal and the fuge is apx 3gal. I built it rather cheap using lowes glass panes 12 x 10 for $2 and some change. the fuge measures 12 x 10 x 6 I think I used 4-5 pieces and they cut it for me. Total cost including the pump was around $30 bucks.

Wow! That looks great! Hey can I make a suggestion? You should paint your 90 dg elbow which is your return, black or blue to blend in, I used the rustoleum plastic spray paint from HD and I like the look!

That would look nice but the pvc is siliconed on my fuge and I dont feel like taning it off and apart just for that. I figured it will cover in coraline algea anyway. Thanks for looking
