I don't know...I think I'm going a bit crazy. I haven't seen any on anything! Now I'm starting to doubt I even saw them....was it just my eyes playing tricks on me with random polyp movement??

I got my redbugs on a blasto frag. Yeah, thats right. Got a blasto frag. No dipping. 2 days later, the person I got it from anounces to the reef board that they just realized they have red bugs. I start seeing them on acros about a week later.
This is how i got em.......a fricking blasto..a damn blasto. They have only shown on a valida though in my tank just like yo SDguy and I have read that valida's are among the most susceptible. Funny thing I did a TMPCC dip on it and havent seen em in a week. We will see. I do have a formosa I cant "see" them on but shows poor PE when i have great PE in the day time on everything else. time will tell...i refuse to treat i tank though....i am not screwing my whole system with a dog med unless it is externally

OK, cleaner shrimps were captured yesterday and transfered to my QT system (which is getting kind full ) Tonight I'll pull the harlequins, and say a little prayer for all my pods and possum shrimp Then the bomb gets dropped. Ooo, I'm all nervous and anxious. Wish me luck!

Oh, hey, do I have to pull my feather duster out?

OK, caught and transfered the harlequins this morning. Moved the one feather duster too (just in case). Filled my phosban reactor with fresh carbon, ready to go, and have 30+ gallons of new saltwater ready. Dosed about half a pill at 2pm. By 4pm, acro crabs were either captured and moved, or dead. A few pods floating around (and lots of fat fish ). Strings of Redbugs coming off corals, but only a select few corals (hoeksemai, humilis, tenuis). So far, so good....

Your coral will love you after the treatment. It will amaze you how better your polyp extension will be once they are free of the red plague, lol.

Ah, the beauty of a really powerful CL intake...all your dead shrimp/crabs collect there for easy removal

Well, that was entirely less painful than I expected. Just wanted to say thanks to all who gave help/input on this thread. I'm thrilled I did it. Granted, my corals weren't infested, so I'm not seeing any dramatic changes, but the peace of mind is fantastic! I'll do two more treatments in the weeks to follow.

Now to go buy some really nice corals.....

I was going to tell you it really isn't that bad, but I figure you have to find that out on your own. It is a great feeling knowing that your corals are free from the pests once again. It is also peace of mind knowing that there is a way to get rid of them.

Bomb number two was dropped this morning I can't wait to finally be able to put my shrimp back in the tank. Next weekend will be my final treatment.

Yay! Bomb number three was released his am.

Now, I'm a little concerned about what I've been reading in other threads about how long this stuff stays active in your system. I'd hate to transfer my prized harlequin shrimps to their death. Does someone have a definitive regiment for preparing the tank to house shrimps after all three treatments?

Figured I would finish off this thread. The cleaner shrimp were transferred back to the tank last week. No problems. So the Harlequins were transferred tonight. And a nice surprise; I found my one red acro crab that I saved in the QT system still alive, and put him back in his pocillopora.

Great to hear it! I did not treat my whole system as my corals were easily removed. I pulled the acros and got them in a QT. Dosed the interceptor yesterday and did a water change on the QT. I will dose on Friday/Saturday and then add them back Monday. I have a sandbed and a mandarin so no full tank dosing for me.

I didn't see any but a fellow reefer told me that the corals that we got in a tank teardown were infested (she found one coral covered in them). I wasn't taking any chances and it was easy for me to do it outside of the tank. ALL future corals will be dipped in TMPCC and then get a 6 hr bath in Interceptor. Getting Interceptor is easy for me since I have two large dogs. I'm not taking any chances.

How's your tank doing 2 1/2 months later?

Tank is doing well. Corals are doing well. I repopulated my pod population with some chaeto from a local reefer. No RB to be seen.

That's good to know. I nuked my tank last night, and performed the water change this morning. The skimmer is already pulling out tons of crud. Now I'm just holding my breath hoping maybe there's a shrimp still alive and that my Mandarin eats prepared food.
