use a toothpick and frag glue to hold it in place if you cant make it to Wal-Mart . first you have to ask if the chain is still there. second if he lost the key to the padlock then finally what gauge of steel and thickness on the chain was used

hope this helps, mrcrab

Well, my house AC system has been failing intermittently yesterday and today. The house has been up to 80F and the tank room was at 85F when I got home last night. The display tank reached 82.2F so definitely getting up there.

I am using some stop-gap measures but there's really not much I can do about it. It has been 100F outside so we are experiencing a serious heat wave. My store was up to 84F when I realized that some idiot had manually shut down one of the heat pumps outside. Nice joke huh? I have about $10K of chocolate in the store so out goes the spy camera...can't wait to find out who it is.

Are you sure you didn't do it and then forgot?

yeah, people always ask me how I am doing, probably referencing my health, and I always reply that everything's fine except having to work for a living.

well, it ran all night last night. I had left the tank room door slightly open and allowed some air-conditioned air to get drawn in, which kept the tank below 82F yesterday, but the blowers were still going at 5:30am this morning when I left. The tank only got down to 79F which means it may start at about 1F too high today. So I will be splitting work early to check on it at about 2 hours after the lights go on today.

I think I will squeek through this heat wave OK, but I may need to start looking into a ground loop. I don't want to be that close to the "edge". ORP was below 300 most of yesterday too, so that doesn't help.

Store is 73F this morning so at least that is going well.

I must say...I just spent the last 4 days skimming through some of your posts and looking at all of your pictures and all I have to say is...

WOW!!

This tank and system is totally awesome...shame I can only afford a 30g right now and hopefully be able to finish setting up my 75g by the end of the year...

thanks for the compliments, but seriously, buy a bigger tank. 75g makes a nice sump and you can get a 200 or 300g off craigslist for the same price. Got to be creative to go big. I am no rich guy by any stretch but I designed my system to be very efficient electrically etc. you can do it too.

Want to save money? do a 5' x 3' x 20" look down tank on a simple stand with no hood. hang the lamp from the ceiling, run a fan across the water for evap cooling, and there you have it.

I really wish I could do that...the tank I have is about as big as I can go with the space available...we live in a modular home with 7 kids... yeah, 7...so, we have no room available for a fish room and no basement so jacking up the floor joists for more than about a 75 or 90 is not doable without a major cost...I got the tank for a steal which is why I went with it, but I would maybe like to trade it for a 90 instead to get the extra height...

contact sherm71tank. he just swapped out his 75g for a 90g which is on the breakfast bar. He beefed up the bar supports a bit and it looks really good,. he is the go-to guy for ghetto rigging tanks and his reefs are ALWAYS extremely beautiful and well maintained. I love checking out his stuff. he has two scribbles in his!

it's not the size that counts, but how you use it!
