Ideas please

I have a 30 gallon and I want to get some new fish my two clowns are getting kinda boring to me and I ordered a Yellow watchman goby from my local fish store so i will be getting that with in a week or so, but I want to find some cool little colorful fish that have a nice personality and are out in the open alot. I think i will get rid of my clowns and kinda start over. I like flame angel fish but hear they nip corals so any ideas of a fish that will go good with other peaceful fish and in a 30. Any ideas would be appreciated

Other than clowns, you're pretty much left with small gobies or firefish.

Maybe you could do a pistol shrimp with the goby?

My Coral Beauty doesn't nip at anything but algae. Also very colorful and lots of personality. But if you really want personality, go with a cleaner shrimp. Lots of fun.

I'm more concerned that your existing fish are boring you!! Maybe you should remove them and sell/trade them to someone who values them. Besides, in a 30g, I'd be a little concerned about putting anything in with clown fish because of their aggressive nature.

gramma loreto do well in a tank that size [mine's a 29]. they'll lay claim to some cave in your lr and defend it - all threat though - rushing out at passers by with mouth open, etc. but nothing harmful. beautiful fish with a funny habit of hanging upside down in their cave to "sleep" Just a caution with angels - you hear of individuals that leave corals alone, but there are no guarantees. these fish nip and eat by nature. my CB was a model citizen for over 6 mos. then started nipping the open brain. others have had fish behave longer and then start nipping.

So a Coral beauty is suitable to live in a 30 or is it to small of a tank.

A sixline wrasse would be nice. 30 gallons is a little small for a coral beauty. If you simply have to have to have an angel , get a cherub.

rainsfordi goby is a great fish...
also look into an arabian pseudochromis. They get agressive, but if youre thinking about selling your other stuff they sure are purdy.

well what i was thinking was the YWG and tiger pistol pair for now and kinda go from there. If a 30 is a little small for that Coral beauty does that mean it would work but have to watch it or just not do it at all.
