green algae/fungus in my nano

greetings,
my tank has been setup for about 15 months now. i've had some small ups and downs but nothing major. for a while things were looking great, my corals were flourishing. in the past month or so however, i've had some constant green algae/fungus looking stuff growing, and getting worse. i've been blowing it off with a turkey baster or scrubbing it with a toothbrush, but it comes back.

the tank is a Nanocube 12g. has 72W PCs. i run carbon and phosphate remover in the back, along with a ball of filter floss and chaeto. i have never tested for phosphates.

i can say i've been playing around with my flow. adding more or less doesnt seen to have an effect on anything. my chaeto ball is not flourishing and i think it is because it isnt getting enough.

anyway, i dont really know what to do about the algae growth. can someone please help.

thanks,
Dan

If you have any pitcures it might help identify the problem. It might be Cynobacteria or might be something else, but pictures will help.

What is your water source? RO/DI? If so when did you last change the filters, do you test for TDS?

i'm pretty sure it isnt cynobacteria. i use RO/DI water and have a TDS meter. i'll have to check that when i get home. maybe the best thing is to just check my TDS level, phosphates, etc. i'll change my carbon and phosphate remover.
