Yellow Tang-What did I do wrong
I had a yellow tang for about 8-9 months. Over the last month or so, he got really really thin, even though he at all of the time. I would feed the tank Brine Shrimp and Seaweed Select. I have a blue Hippo tang and he appears to be perfectly helath. He is not plump and fat, but he is not rail thin either. All of my other fish are ok as well.
Is there some special way of caring for this fish |

It sounds like it might have internal parasites.

I might suggest internal parasites too. What color is his poo? If it is white, then it is most likely parasites which get worse over time and slowly starve the fish. See if he will eat some of the medicated food for parasites - I forgot the name... sorry.
I have used praizi pro with my triggers (pinktails and durgeons) who seem to have them sometimes, but I don't recommed this in a display tank. You might also switch the brine shrimp for some mysis shrimp. |

jda and carlc, thanks for the reply. His poo was typical fish poo green. However, he did die 20th. I would like to replace him with another tang (maybe atlantic blue or purple tang) so I want to make sure I dont recreate another bad situation.

it also may have been the brine shrimp as it doesnt contain a lot of protien... switch to mysis... PE brand if your fish are a bit bigger. sorry to hear about your yellow not making it.
