Glad to hear the frags are doing well

yeah, you need to get the macro len as James's if you are in to macro shots!

I'm glad that Naka came by yesterday. I have tried to have him to come over to check out my tank and take some pics in the past. But it was hard to arrange such meet up due to our busy weekend schedule and quite a drive b/t us. Then suddently I got a call from Invincible yesterday around noon (when I was ready to get lunch) that Naka was at his house (pretty close to mine) and they would stop by in 5 - 10 mins! I was a little hungry but thought it's worth it to put off my lunch plan to meet these guys first. And it was worth it

Nice aquarium.
I have an oversize kalkwasser reactor (6" dia and 28" tall) and a good size Ca rxtr w/ dual chamber.
I have to refill 3 tablespoon (the big one) of ESV kalk to the kalk rxtr weekly.
I also refill my Calc rxtr chamber ~every two months. The media would melt ~3" or so about 2-3 months and I like to keep my rxtr full as frequent as I can.

That's my latest rare collection Got it from RM when I visited their store several months ago. They called it the blue polyps nasuta. I have always been awed by the frag pics they posted on their website in the past but always missed out on the deals since they usually sold quickly and i was also a little skeptical if the blue polyps were that nice blue (considering the price tag on these frags!). But I was totally sucked to it when i saw it in person - it does have the deep blue polyps and neon green body as in the pics! so i couldn't resist the $120 tab for the 1.5" frag.. and broght it back w/ me on the plane
Good thing is it seems to grow quite good and its neon green has turned even better than when I first got it! Good buy IMO

So I started to increas feeding heavily in the past 3 or 4 months.. 1 cube of mysis, 2 cubes of brineshrimp, some flakes, and varying/ alternate amounts of cyclopeeze, oyster eggs, golden pearl and phytoplankton every day. I noticed great growth and more solid color w/ increased feeding.

Your tank is certainly TOTM material! Amazing tank! I wish I lived near Houston so that I could see the tank in person!

I have a couple of questions. Sorry to get a little off-topic.

1. How deep is your sand bed?

2. What type of maintenance do you do to you sand (i.e. siphon, stir, change, etc)?

3. What inverts do you have to stir and eat detritus in your sand bed?

Thanks!

BTW, Naka's camera skills are crazy!

1. The sand bed in the main tank is ~1/2" - 1" in the front and ~3" at the back glass. It was original 2-3" all around but i had to suck the sand on the front out due to the strong flow from the Tunze.
I also have a 6" DSB in my refugium (~50 gal).

2 & 3> I do not really do anything mechanically to my sandbed (like siphone or stir... I try not to touch or stir it at all. I have 2 large cucumbers that help keeping the sandbed clean. There are also some various snails under the sandbed that only come out after the lights are off.
hope this help

Unfortunatly not as great as yours! I found out that somehow I got AEFW's The good thing is that it forced me to pull out all of my acros and that resulted in me drilling my rocks to peg corals. I am going to do a final treatment this weekend and put all the corals back into the tank.

Did that awesome colony that you got at MACNA do well?

Boy that red Stag has really really taken off! You can put me down on the frag list!!!!! It is nice that we haven't started our blasing summer so early this year, this will allow you to keep better coloration for a little longer!!!!

I'll have to agree with the consensus here, you really should be TOTM!

The tank is even more impressive in person. But even more amazing is Quoc's generous fragging and helpful spirit. A true aquatic gentleman!!! I've had numerous pleasant and successful frag purchases....hopefully they will do half as well in my tank as his!
