I would say not because they are 7 1/2" wide and your tank is 12" wide. If you bought the legs you might be able to make it work but you would have a bit of overhang though which would kinda defeat...

5 watts per gallon isn't a very accurate way to describe lighting. 2 100w incandescent bulbs could provide 5 watts per gallon, doesn't mean it is appropriate lighting.
