I'm looking for a 1 1/2" 90 and less than 12" of 1 1/2" pipe. I've looked at HD, Lowes, Fergusons, Thom Somerville and none to be had.

Same problem here too, though not quite as bad. I really put my shoulder into it and got the valve to about a 10 o'clock position.
I got the riser tube cut down and I'm impressed already.

Cutting it back is the only way to export the nitrates that the cheato has taken up. Be sure to shake it out good first so you aren't throwing away any "critters".
Try 10% on a weekly basis.

GARF does not recommend building in plywood over 24". I got my glass from glass cages fro about $300, 1/2 Starfire.
