Flood insurance has to do with natural disasters only. Home owners will probably cover it but I would read the terms on your policy to be sure it's not excluded.

Actually this is incorrect. The above statement is true for calcite sand. Aragonite does have excellent buffering ability.

If you're asking me how to spend your money I say go for the 12 footer! I would make it 36" wide too. I have to say though I would be too nervous to have a tank of that size made from glass.
