Does anyone have any feedback on this line of pumps?

"Please note that it is normal for this pump to increase the aquarium`s water temp by 4–6°F"

Cool, it's a heater too!

These pumps get alot of good reviews for how silent they are and how well they work in pressure applications but the heat transfer has got to make them a poor choice for many systems.

I've had one for about four years (before the new company started selling it). Agree it's hard to clean and may need more cleaning because of the heat they create and the resulting precipitate. Since I have other options I decided the heat and need to clean issues were enough to no longer use it.
When it was on a livingroom tank the lack of noise was the reason I continued to use it. Took the tank down so that's no longer needed.

Depending on tank size the 5° heat gain sound believable.

I have a T2 on my 58 and one on my 75. I love them -- the added heat for me hasn't been all that bad. In fact on my 75 ( PC lights ) on some spring days when I have the windows open the heater still was turning on to keep the temp at 79.5. With my 58 (2*175 MH) a clip on fan is more than enough to keep the temp in check in the summer time.

As for cleaning them -- not too much of a PITA if you have a metric allen wrench. I clean mine about every 6-9 months. When/if they stop working ( one is over 5 years old ) I plan on getting another one.
