clear wormlike thing
. i have noticed a clear worklike thing around a small zoo frag. it almost looks like a small feeding tentacle. It will reach out into the current for a minute then retract back in. it always seems to extend from the same location, any ideas what this could be

My guess would be a Chaetopterid or Spionid worm. Digitate hydroids tend to be active at night and don't retract very much when out and feeding. They pretty much whip around in the water column all night long. They are also fuzzy in appearance.
Chaetopterid or Spionid worms are harmless scavengers. Digitate hydroids can sting but most corals are closed up when they are most active.
