Unhappy CSS HELP - will rio needle wheel work??

Hi Guys,

My impeller broke on my Coralife Superskimmer (220) the other day. I'm pretty much screwed. No one has a replament impeller in stock (champion lighting quoted at a month before then can get a hold of one).

I thought I read a thread on RC a while ago about using rio needle wheel impellers with the CSS stock pumps, but now I can't find the thread

Anyone have a quick fix for me: i.e which impeller to buy from where???

Thanks very much for any help.

If you've had the skimmer for less than a year Coralife will replace it for free, and rather quickly.

You can use a Rio 2100 pump with Aqua Medic pin-wheel (needle-wheel).
Works great. I have it running a Kent TE skimmer on my 40RR tank for the last couple of years.
Buy from D & T Aquarium supplies on-line.
Hope this helps.

You could also make your own mesh wheel impeller for it and most likly, it will work even better than before.

I've actually been considering this... has anyone tried it with a CSS yet though?
